Merve Özçelik is a PhD candidate in the Department of Applied Linguistics at Penn State. She holds a master’s degree in English Language Teaching. Before joining Penn State, she taught academic reading and writing at a university in Turkey for five years. Her research interests focus on advocating for linguistic equity among speakers of Englishes and exploring the intersections of language, trauma, and gender.
