Jungwan Yoon is a scholar and teacher in the field of second language (L2) education and writing. She recently graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Ph.D in Applied Linguistics, and holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Pennsylvania. She is and has been committed to education for diverse groups of students, and has taught various writing and language courses for both undergraduate and graduate multilingual students, such as ESL freshman composition, Discourse-Functional Grammar for MA TESL students, Discourse Analysis, and Conversational English. Her research interests include L2 writing, academic literacy development, writing pedagogy, corpus-based analysis of academic discourse, and language/writing teacher education. She has published several book chapters and journal articles touching on the interface of discourse analysis-corpus-and L2 writing in the Journal of English for Academic Purposes, Mentoring & Tutoring: Partnership in Learning, and the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics.
